Food Quality Assurance Supervisor

Details: Food Production Quality Assurance Supervisor Full Time Direct Hire 5+ Years experience 55K/year Parma, OH Kelly Scientific Resources is hiring a QA supervisor to assist the QA Manager, testing and inspecting products at all stages of production to determine and maintain product quality and safety of USDA compliant baked products . RESPONSIBILITIES • Audit and monitor plant processes for food safety and quality verification of all products. • Performs pre-operational inspections including environmental swabbing. • Approves department for start-up and maintains all particulate USDA documentation. • Monitors GMP compliance of the facility with daily inspection reports with corrective actions • Records and maintains all QA compliance records. • Ability to organize and execute coordination of an outside inspection audit. • Highly proficient and productive in the HACCP program, organizing training and committee meetings. • Responsible for sample collection and microbiological testing. • Assist as needed in product mock recall trials. • Review batch reports, verity lot codes and maintain QA files. • Performs environmental testing. • Monitors shelf life studies. • Performs special projects as assigned. • Responsible to report food safety, quality or food defense concerns to QA Manager. • Complies with all good housekeeping measures, Safety, GMP s, and Food Safety Policies. The Right Candidate will have • Bachelors of Science, Food Science, Microbiology or related scientific degree • Minimum 3 years quality systems experience in food processing • Well-developed problem solving, team building and staff development skills. • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as chemical labels, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • High degree of initiative and independent judgment. • Must be self-motivated, proactive and solution focused. • Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public and staff in a personable and professional manner.
