Details: R&D Chemist 1st Shift Up to 75K Akron, OH Responsibilities and Duties The R & D Chemist position is involved in all aspects of new product development from concept through plant production. The Chemist position will conduct pilot plant synthesis and application testing of silicone based products for use in a variety of market applications. Job Description for Chemist - Research and Development : • Conduct pilot plant synthesis and development of new products. • Facilitate research projects from concept to production. • Mechanical aptitude is required to safely operate pilot reactors and equipment. • Physical testing of synthesized products including application testing. • Develop new or improved laboratory procedures. • Provide technical support to production plants and sales. • Work independently of others on individual or special projects. • Provide neat, concise, and complete data and reports. • Interpret results and solve problems. • Clean and maintain laboratory and equipment. • Some travel can be anticipated. Requirements for Chemist - Research and Development : • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. • 7+ years of laboratory testing experience is desirable. • Aptitude in organic and polymer chemistry and synthesis is desirable.
