Details: Director Laboratory A community hospital in a charming scenic area of New England is searching for a Director of Laboratory. Our ideal candidate is a creative, autonomous decision maker with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to mentor staff and effect change. Position Focus: Day to day operational and strategic leadership of the laboratory staff, tests and analytical procedures, laboratory documentation/compliance and written reports. Oversees Transfusion, Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Microbiology/Serology, Urinalysis and Phlebotomy, Histology/Anatomic Pathology and supportive services (secretarial, office staff, assistants). Ensures compliance with all State and Federal regulations and maintains laboratory QA programs. Determines appropriate staffing levels and adequate division of responsibilities within the department. Involved in budget setting and allocation and cost efficient operation of the laboratory. This position oversees 15+ FTE’s, including 1 supervisor and 5 leads and reports to C-level suite.
